Curtis Croom

Mr. Curtis Croom, age 79, of Waycross, Ga departed this life on Monday, December 9, 2019 after a brief illness. 

Curtis received his formal education from the Waycross Public School System and graduted from Center High School in 1960. After graduation he moved to Brooklyn, New York where he lived for several years. Curtis then returned to Waycross where he was employed at Spears Drugstore for over twenty years. He was also employed at Walker Cab Company as a taxi driver for several years and worked at Fluker Funeral Home. He was employed as a public transportation driver at the time of his passing.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Charles Croom and Francis Croom Scretchen. 

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Garnetta McClain (Johnny) ,Tracy Harris of both of Waycross, Ga..,  Sherry Standley (Chris) of Folkston, Ga.,  Michelle McDaniel (Curtis) of Atlanta, Ga., Donnie Croom (Latasha) of Waycross, Ga., Ronnie Croom and Terrence Bevel both of Atlanta, Ga.: a sister, Mary Alice Saunders of Waycross, Ga.; a special friend, Charlotte Spears of Waycross, Ga.  and her children, Nikki Spears, Chaura Spears, Dedric Stanford and Larry Spears; twenty grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends,

Friends are being received at the Croom residence 645 Walker Street.  

Visitation will be at held at Fluker Funeral Home, 985 Ossie Davis Pkwy on Saturday, December 14th from 5 to 7 p.m.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, December 15, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. 702 Arnold McKinney Drive with the church pastor, Rev. Fer-Rell M. Malone Sr. bringing words of comfort.

The body will lie in repose Sunday from 1 p.m.  to the hour of service. Interment will be in Hazzard Hill Cemetery.
