Deacon Willie Charles Evans Jr.,61, was born April 7, 1958 in Lakeland (Lanier County), Georgia to the late Willie C. Evans Sr. and the late Gladys Sirmons Evans.
He received his formal education from the Lanier County Public Schools. He was accepted Christ into his life in 1997 and served faithfully for twenty two years as deacon at Faith Mission Youth Deliverance Center.
On Thursday March 26, 2020 God called him to his heavenly home after an illness. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Willie C. Evans lll. and a brother, James Evans.
Those left to cherish his memory a loving wife of twenty years, Willie Mae Evans of Homerville, Ga.; five daughters, Keisha Evans (Smith Tocissaint) of Largo, Fl., Barbara Edwards, Peggy Raymond, Shawndella White (Ken), Kamia Calhoun all of Homerville, Ga.; a son, Donald Raymond of Lansing, Mi; four brothers, Steward John Brown (Vickie) of Adel, Ga., Timothy Evans (Tammy) of Valdosta, Ga., Rockie Evans and Ronnie Evans of Lakeland, Ga. Three sisters, Linda Brown (Freddie), Barbara Evans and Patricia Evans all of Lakeland, Ga.; two aunts, Willie Mae Hilton of Statenville, Ga and Rosie Lee Sirmons of Lakeland, Ga. four brothers-in-law, Deacon Benjamin Edwards (Shirley), Deacon Robert Edward (Arlinda) all of Homerville, Ga., Alexander Edwards (Patricia) and Willie James Edwards (Teressa) of Valdosta, Ga; two sisters-in-law, Oime Lee Bridges of Albany, Ga. and Glienda Young of Homerville, Ga.; twenty-two grandchildren including three special grandchildren, Jaquon Gaines Elijah Toussaint and Pierre Toussaint; twelve great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including a special friend, Danny Cobb of Homerville, Ga.
Graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2020 in Pine Forest Cemetery, Homerville at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Johnnie M. Ellis, pastor of Faith Mission Youth Deliverance Center in Homerville, bring words of comfort.
