Deacon Elijah James Regulus Sr., a native of Waycross (Ware County), Georgia, was the eleventh of thirteen  children of the late Rev. and Mrs. Robert Regulus Sr..

He received his formal education from the Waycross Public School System and graduated from Center High School in 1940.

He joined St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church at an early age where he served on the Sr. Usher Board, president of the Men’s Bible Class, Superintendent of Sunday School, and Chairman of the Deacon Board. He was also a member of of Composite Lodge #40.

He was an employee of the old ACL and Seaboard Rail road for 37 years.

He departed this life on Tuesday August 3, 2021 at his residence after an illness.. in addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sons, Elijah James Regulus jr. and Edward L. Regulus. He was also preceded in death six brothers and five sisters.

He leaves to cherish his memory four sons, Gregory Regulus, Curtis Lee Regulus (Lorene), Ronald Karl Regulus (Kathy) and Richard C, Regulus (Lisa): eleven grandchildren; great grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Faye Regulus and Lizzie Regulus;  nieces, nephews ,other relatives and friends,

A celebration of life service for Deacon and Deaconess Elijah Regulus Sr. will be held Saturday August 7, 2021 in Hazzar Hill Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fer-Rell M. Malone Sr., Pastor of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, Waycross, bring words of comfort.

Visitation will be held Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fluker Funeral Home 985 Ossie Davis Parkway, Waycross, Georgia.
