Deaconess. Naomi Hayes Obituary

Deaconess Naomi Hayes, affectionately known as “Mother” and “Nana” was born September 13th 1927 in Fannie Lue, Florida to Elder Fred Hayes and Beatrice Wallace. She was educated in the Charlton County School Systems. She retired in 1988 from King Edward Cigar factory in Jacksonville, Fl.

Naomi accepted Christ into her life at an early age and joined Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. H. L. Baker where she served as a deaconess.

Naomi married the late Alexander Dasher in 1944 and reunited in Holy matrimony in October of 1991.

On Tuesday, April 20th 2021, she gently slipped into the waiting arms of the Creator she so dearly loved and served. She was proceeded in death by her two daughters, Patricia A. Hayes and Naomi J. White; one granddaughter Velda Nicholas, four brothers Mr. John Hayes, Mr. James Hayes, Mr. Marion Mitchell and Mr. Freddie Hayes and a sister Bernice Hayes.

She leaves to cherish her memory, three grandsons Malcolm (Teea) Dasher, Mark (Kanika) Hayes, Nivelle White, one granddaughter Alexandrea (Nathan) Brown, three brothers Johnny (Mildred) Hayes, Beau Hayes, Walter Hayes, five sisters Deborah Hayes Crawford (of Miami, FL ), Louise Hayes Brown, Catherine Hayes Jolivette, Maxine Hayes Taylor (all of Tallahassee, FL) and Carolyn Hayes Brown (of Atlanta, GA). 16 great grands and 18 great great grands. A special great granddaughter Hope L. Dasher. A special great great grandson Marquevias Dasher. Two God Daughters Faye James and Sylvia Everett. Long time devoted friend Doretha Dasher. A host of nieces, nephews, and sorrowing friends.

A graveside service will be held Saturday May 1, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Mt. Carmel Memorial Cemetery, Folkston, Ga. with Rev. Antwon Nixon, pastor of mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, Folkston, officiating.
