Dollie Mae Wright was born on November 2, 1933 to the late Fred and Sallie Mae Williams. She was a native of Folkston, GA for many years. After a decline in her health Dollie Mae moved to Jacksonville, FL to be cared for by her loving daughter Gwen and loved ones. She was surrounded and supported by her loving family and caregivers during the last days of her life. On the afternoon of September 28, 2021, at her daughter’s residence, she went to be with the precious Father.
Dollie Mae graduated from Stanton High School in Jacksonville, Fl. She later met and married Glenn Wright in the 1950’s.
Dollie Mae worked very hard in the Domestic Management field. She was a queen that had so much knowledge and love to give. Dollie Mae joined Mt. Carmel Baptist Church where she was on the deaconess board and later became the Mother of the Church. Dollie Mae later retired and became a homemaker, she enjoyed traveling, dancing, cooking and so much more.
Dollie Mae was preceded in death by her sisters May Bell Nelson and Freddie Mae Doles; sons Dwayne T Major and Curtis A Wright .
She is survived by her daughter Gwendolyn Griffin and son Herman Wright (Beverly) both of Jacksonville, FL; sisters Lorys Moody of Folkson, GA, Gwendolyn Scott of Jacksonville, FL, and Carolyn Jacobs of Yule, FL. 20 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren, 14 great great great grandchildren and a host of Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, God children and special friends.
Final and most sacred arrangements are entrusted to the professional care of Fluker Funeral Home, 985 Ossie Davis Parkway, Waycross, GA.
