Mrs. Elizabeth King, age 80, of Waycross, GA transitioned from this life on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Hospice Satilla House in Waycross after an illness.
She was born August 12, 1939 in Macon, Georgia to the late Lillie Mae Haywood Walker and Henry Leo Lindee. She grew up in Waycross where she received her formal education.
Mrs. King lived in Oviedo, Fl. for many years where she worked and retired from the University of Central Florida. After her retirement she moved back to Waycross in 1991.
Her favorite past times were fishing and cooking. Her cakes, pies and biscuits along with many other recipes always left you wanting more.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew King; four children, Wendell Walker, Vincent King, Lillie Mae walker and Virginia Walker Thomas.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children,Roosevelt Walker of Monticello, Fl., Kenneth King, Linda Rogers (James) both of Orlando, Fl. and Maebell King of Waycross, GA; a stepson, Carlos Teal of Orlando, Fl.; siblings, Eloise Hart of Cuthbert, Ga. and Henry Lee Walker (Carolyn) of Waycross, Ga.; a special friend, Deacon Sylvester Kelly of Waycross,Ga.; numerous of grandchildren,great grandchildren nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
Friends are being received at the King residence 1006 H.J. Echols Dr.
A celebration of life service for Mrs. King will be held Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at St. John Missionary Baptist Church. 864 oak St. with the church pastor, Rev. Paul Bailey Jr, will bring words of comfort.
