Mr. Joseph "Snap" Evers, age 73, of Decatur, GA, transitioned on Friday, January 3, 2020 at Atlanta VA Medical Center after an illness.
He was a native of Waycross and son of the late Elton “Bo” Evers and Carrie Williams Evers. He graduated from Center High School in 1965 and was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife Patricia Moore Evers of Decatur, Ga.; children, Carol Reed (Bennie lll) of Waycross,Ga., Joseph Evers (Linda) of Valdosta, Ga. and Ronica Evers-Johnson (Hosel) of McDonough, Ga.; twelve grandchildren; sisters, Kathleen Tripp (Marvin) of Waycross, Ga. and Priscilla Reynard (Joe) of Atlanta, Ga.; a brother, James Evers (Brenda) of Atlanta, Ga.; other relatives and friends.
A memorial gathering for Mr. Evers will be held Tuesday, January 14, 2020 from 11 a.m. to noon at Beulah Missionary Baptist Church, 2340 Clifton Springs Road, Decatur, Georgia where Rev. Jerry D. Black is pastor.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. at Greater St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. 1110 Pittman St. Waycross, GA. where the church pastor, Rev. Johnny Arnold will bring words of comfort. Public visitation will be held Friday, January 17, 2020 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Fluker Funeral Home. 985 Ossie Davis Parkway, Waycross, GA. The body will lie in repose Saturday at the church from 9:30 a.m. to the hour of service.
