Carolyn Elaine Burns was born on September 10, 1960, in Homerville, Georgia, to the late Norman Burns Sr. and Juanita Taylor. She received her education in the Clinch County School System. Carolyn was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who cherished her family deeply. She was known for her warm heart, her outspoken spirit, and her love for cooking—often bringing comfort to others through both her words and her meals. She loved her family and friends dearly, and her presence brought joy and strength to all who knew her.
Callen was preceded in death by her second mother, who raised her, Sarah Burns Jennings; a grandson, Brad Collins; and five siblings: Billy Gene Dorsey, Tommy Dorsey, Annette Taylor, Debra Williams, and James Burns.
She leaves to cherish her memories three loving daughters: Normanek Collins (Keith), of Lakeland Ga. Felicia Collins Williams (Hosea) and Sara Burns; one loving son, Trey Dorsey (Ash) all of Homerville Ga.; two devoted sisters: Joann Taylor and Rose Lee (John); two devoted brothers: Norman Burns, Jr (Evelyn) and John Nelms, all of Homerville Ga.; 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; two special God sisters: Ethel Mae Edmonds and Nazarene Clark and a host of loving nieces & nephews.
