Mother Etta Mae Eaddy, 93 of Blackshear, gained her wings Wednesday morning April 29, 2026, at her home. Born April 6, 1933, in Blackshear, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Curtis Tomlin and Ardella Cobb Tomlin. She was educated in New Hope and Lee Street Schools.
She worked at the Pierce County Hospital for many years. She later received her CDL driver’s license and became employed with the Pierce County Board of Education as a School Bus Driver.
Mrs. Eaddy met and married Thomas J. Eaddy, Sr. To this union ten children were born, five boys and five girls. She also, raised her grandson Tyberius Eaddy and her great grand- daughter TyBreana Eaddy.
She enjoyed working with her flowers, cooking, traveling, sewing, reading the bible, and being physically active.
Mrs. Eaddy accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was a life- long and devoted member of Bethel Tempel First Born Church. Serving in many capacities such as church secretary, usher, teacher of women’s Sunday school, Mother of the Church, and many other roles.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Eaddy was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Eaddy Sr.; children, Delilah, Angela, Benjamin, and Thomas J,; brothers, George Tomlin, Malcolm Tomlin, Thaddaus Tomlin, David Tomlin, and Maceo Tomlin,; sisters, Jessie Tomlin Spells and Cora Beatrice Tomlin Lee.
She is survived by children, Samuel Eaddy, Joseph Eaddy, Stafford Eaddy (Teresa), Tyberius Eaddy, Nathalie Payne (Dr. Albert), Felicia Eaddy, Dr. Cynthia Eaddy, and TyBreana Eaddy. Mrs. Eaddy also leaves to cherish her precious memories thirteen grands, twenty-one great grands and five great great-grands. One sister Mrs. Bertha Tomlin Bacon; a special daughter Ms. Jannie Eaddy, a special friend Mrs. Cynthia Harris, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dearest friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, in the Blackshear Temple Holiness Church located at 209 Burrough St, Blackshear, GA 31516. Interment will follow in the Shiloh Cemetery, 905 Central Ave, Blackshear, GA
