With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Brett Michael Scudder, who passed away on June 20, 2026, at the age of 37.
Brett was born on March 13, 1989, in Newark, New Jersey, and was known for his outgoing personality, sense of humor, loyalty to friends and family, and dedication to working hard and providing for his children. Throughout his life, he enjoyed sports, especially football and basketball. Sneakers were his passion, and his children, family, and friends were his foundation. He touched the lives of many with his laughter and love.
Brett Michael Scudder is survived by his children, Micah Zamon Scudder, Brett Michael Scudder Jr., Kayden Jalal Scudder, Brelin Marcelle Scudder, and Arryon Williams; his uncle, Tracy Scudder; his cousins, Swiyyah Seabrian, Leila Scudder-Brown, Dana Scudder, Matthew Scudder, Latif Lewis, Cameron Scudder, and Tracy Scudder; and a large number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Renee Scudder; brother, Jalal Scudder; son, Quay’lenn Scudder; grandmother, Marcia Hines; and aunt, Arnecia Lewis.
Family and friends will remember Brett for his love of the game, whether on the football field, the basketball court, the TV screen, or the game system, as well as his love and loyalty to his friends and family. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and kindness that will continue to inspire everyone who knew him.
A celebration of life will be held on July 3, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church, 702 Arnold McKinney Dr., Waycross, GA. His repass will be held at the family home, 2046 Ocean Breeze Dr., Waycross, GA, immediately after the service.
Though deeply missed, Brett will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
