MR. CLARENCE HILL

On September 9, 2023, our beloved Clarence Hill answered the Master’s call. He was born in Louisville, Georgia and at the age of 2 yrs. old he was taken to Waycross, Georgia and was cared for by his grandfather and his wife, James and Nancy Hill. In Waycross Georgia, Clarence met and fell in love with his beautiful wife, Mary Evelyn Battle Hill(deceased). They moved to Miami and were married for 54 years, where Clarence was employed by Dade County Transportation and retired as a Superintendent.

He joined Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, Miami Florida in 1957 and was on the Board of Trustees for many years. He played the guitar and harmonica for the church, and he loved to play for his family also. Clarence also had a passion for and was a skilled bowler and participated in many bowling tournaments and won many awards. In March 2020, he moved to Ormond Beach, Florida attended the Calvary Christian Center, until his passing.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Mary Evelyn Battle Hill and his former wife, Willie Mae Dunn Hill; sons, Clarence Hill, Jr and Hozea (Heather) Hill, Sr and stepdaughter, Wilhelminia McCoy Jennings.

He leaves to cherish his memory and continue his legacy: Daughter, Felecia (Albert) Hunt, Waycross, GA; Stepdaughter, Ruth McCoy, Waycross, GA. Stepson, Clellon McCoy, Miami, FL. GRAND-CHILDREN: Candace Hunt McNeill, Mauldin, SC; Mitchell Maxwell, Jacksonville, FL; Kenneth Denson, Atlanta, GA; Albert Rodrick Hunt, Jesup, GA; Hozea Hill, Sr, Waycross, GA; Haamid Hill, Jacksonville, FL; Aneesah Hill Singleton, Jacksonville, FL; Ayonna Hill, Waycross, GA. GREAT-GRANDS: 15 GREAT-GREAT-GRANDS: 12

Clarence spent the last three years residing in Florida with his loving nephew, Leonard Hodge and care giver Sylvia Smith. He also leaves behind to cherish his memory his cousins, Annie Hill Robinson, Lokay Hill, Oscar Hodge III, Edith (Salvador) Reed, Patricia Jenkins, Anniceia Hodge, and Michelle Ivey.

Family and friends are being received at his daughter Felecia Hunt home 1503 Toomer Street starting daily at 12:00 noon. Masks are asked to be worn please. 

A viewing will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, His Celebration of Life will be held at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church 702 Arnold McKinney Drive, Waycross, GA on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at 2:00 pm. Please keep the family in prayer during this difficult time.
