MR. EARL GIBBS

Earl Gibbs was born on May 30, 1953, to Nathaniel and Lou Anne Gibbs, the second of nine children. Educated in the Charlton County School System, Earl demonstrated impressive athletic ability in track and basketball. He continued his academic pursuits at Albany State University, earning an Associate of Science degree.

Earl’s life was defined by his strong work ethic and dedication. He worked in various industries including a tire builder at Firestone for over 10 years, where he was known for his reliability and skill. Later, he joined Lockheed Martin at Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base, where he continued his career for more than 20 years. Earl was a valued team member, respected by his colleagues for his commitment and integrity. Beyond his career, Earl’s life was marked by his love for cooking, fishing, hunting, and fast cars. These passions brought his great joy and reflected his adventurous spirit and zest for life.

On January 9, 2025, God saw that Earl was growing tired and called him home to give him rest. He passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus with his family by his side.

Earl was proceeded in death by his parents, Nathaniel and Lou Ann Gibbs, 2 Sisters - Shirley Gibbs & Phyllis Sims, and 2 brothers - Nathaniel Gibbs Jr. & Kirt Gibbs

He leaves to mourn: His Wife of 48 years - Mary Ann Clark Gibbs; 2 Children - Narada Gibbs Sr. & Choney Gibbs, both of Kingsland, Ga; 8 Grandchildren – Pastor Dionte Smith, Natyana Reed, Namyra Gibbs, Christopher “Ahmad” Reed, Nariyah Davis, Narada Gibbs Jr., Anirah Haston, Jada Gibbs; 3 Great-Grandchildren; 2 Brothers - Al “Dale” (Kim) Gibbs of Jacksonville, FL & Danny Gibbs of Folkston, GA; 2 Sisters - Carolyn (Ronald) Mincey & Angela Arrington both of Atlanta, GA; 4 Aunts - Minnie (Henry) Benefield of Folkston, GA, Celia Maynor of Folkston, GA, Gloria (Cephus) Nicholson of Lacy, Washington &

Bessie (Carl) Robinson of Stafford, Virginia;  1 Uncle Wilbur Smith of Kingsland, GA; 4 Brother-in-laws - Mark (Ada) Clark Jr., William “Bill” (Elaine) Clark, Kent (Wanda) Clark, all of Albany, GA & Ray (Vergena) Clark of Atlanta, GA.; 3 Sister-in-laws - Ruby (Charles) Banks of Atlanta, GA, Alberta (Eddie) Wilson of Albany, GA & Darolyn (Anthony) Hines of Macon, GA.; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A special Devoted nephew, Bernell Sims III.
