George Arthur Williams Sr., affectionately known as “Shamrock”, was a cherished member of the Waycross, Georgia community. Born on September 16,1944 in Telmore, Georgia, raised in Waycross and spent his final years in Pompano Beach, Florida. He dedicated his life to his family, friends, and neighbors, leaving a mark on all who knew him.
George was educated in the Waycross School System. He was employed by Gold Kist Pecan Factory for several years. Shamrock was a certified carpenter and an entrepreneur who carved out his own path with determination and grit. He owned and operated numerous restaurants, game room, stores and spots.
A man of many talents, George found joy and fulfillment in building handcrafted furniture—each piece a testament to his patience, craftsmanship, and creativity. Whether it was a colorful Shamrock chair or a sturdy table, his work carried the warmth of his hands and heart. He was also well known for his unique hobby of reciting the U.S. Constitution and the Bible, a pastime that reflected his deep respect for knowing your rights and loving the Lord.
Shamrock was born into a large, close-knit family and in time, he built a large family of his own. His presence was constant and comforting—he showed up with love, laughter, and a listening ear. His role in the lives of those he loved was rooted in connection, storytelling, and simply being there when it mattered most.
