Mr. Kenneth Bernard Jackson, Sr., was born on January 7, 1953, in Waycross, Georgia, to the late Jesse Clarence Jackson and Myrtice Tyson Jackson. He received his formal education in the Waycross school system and graduated from Waycross High School with the Class of 1972.
After graduation, Kenneth began his career as a welder for the railroad, a role he took great pride in. He had a deep love for music, with his favorite group being The Temptations. A man of simple pleasures, he enjoyed fishing, reading, and riding his bicycle. Let’s not forget that slick jazzy mouth, always witty and keeping you on your toes. While he often kept to himself, he maintained close bonds with special friends and family, including his best buddy, Alex Armstrong.
Kenneth left his earthly home on March 8, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandchild, Trinity Jackson; two siblings, Frances Jackson-Duhart and Lorine Jackson-Robinson
He leaves to cherish his memory his ten children: Kenneth (Shun) Bernard Jackson Jr. of Atlanta, GA; Latonya Jackson of Waycross, GA; Absalom Jackson Sr. of Brunswick, GA; Derrick (Shanika) Jackson Sr. of Snellville, GA; Zebulun (Basheen) Jackson Sr.; Jesse Jackson of College Park, GA; Daniel Jackson of College Park, GA; Adhino Jackson of Waycross, GA; Phillip (Ashley) Jackson of McDonough, GA; and Mary Jackson of Waycross, GA.
He is also survived by eight siblings, 27 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.
Kenneth Bernard Jackson, Sr. will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and friends.
A viewing is planned for Friday, March 14, 2025, at Refreshing Springs COGIC, 517 Mary St., Waycross, GA. Please keep the family in prayer during this difficult time.
