MR. KENYATTA GORDON, SR. Obituary

Mr. Kenyatta Nik'Ki Gordon, Sr., was born on March 1, 1979, in Waycross, Georgia, to the late Billy Ray Wilson and Miss Shirley Gordon. He was a proud graduate of Ware County High School, Class of 1998. Determined and hard-working, Kenyatta went on to build a successful career in Workforce Management, where he served for over 11 years with excellence and integrity. He was currently employed at Satilla Memorial Hospital.

A true sports lover, Kenyatta never missed a Georgia Bulldogs game and remained a loyal fan of LeBron James, no matter which team he played for. He also faithfully followed the Philadelphia Eagles, one of his favorite professional football teams. A competitor at heart, Kenyatta enjoyed relaxing with his favorite video game, NBA 2K, and loved listening to a wide variety of podcasts. Fishing offered him peace and reflection.

He was known for his unique style—especially his love for Jordan tennis shoes—and for his talent and passion for working on cars. Kenyatta often used that skill to assist others, especially single mothers going through difficult times. He had a giving heart and never hesitated to lend a helping hand.

Above all, Kenyatta had a special gift when it came to children. His love was pure and limitless. Whether he was babysitting, offering guidance, or just being present, the children around him felt safe and cared for. He left a lasting impression on the lives he touched—young and old.

Kenyatta was preceded in death by his father, Billy Ray Wilson, and his brother, Adrian Smith Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memories:

His loving mother, Shirley Gordon; His beloved son, Kenyatta J. Gordon, Jr.; His devoted sister, Erica Johnson; Loving brothers: Eugene Rawls, Zelverick Gordon (Donnisha), Corey Tatum, Reginald Oliver, Sr. and Billy Ray Wilson, Jr (Keshandra);

His aunts: Michelle Brown-Mark, Anjanette Shaw, Barbara Hawkins, Renee Six Lucious, Wanda Carter, Patricia Ward Hughley, Glory Gaines, Sheila Wilson, Emma Bennett, Ethel Smith (Andre), Alicia Wilson, and Claretha Wilson; His uncles: Henry Gordon IV, Willie Gordon, Demetrius Williams Gordon, Jerry Hawkins, Ronald Smith, Quincy Smith, Earnest Wilson, Jr. and John Wilson; A host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, including a special grandniece, Kelani Rawls; And many other dear family members and friends who will continue to honor his memory.

Kenyatta’s life was a testament to kindness, laughter, and loyalty. His spirit will live on in every heart he touched.  Please continue to keep the family in prayer during this difficult time.

The cortege will assemble at 1:25 p.m. at 321 Archer Street, Waycross, GA.
