Narada Ornette Gibbs, Sr. was born on October 20, 1976, in Albany, Georgia, to the late Earl Gibbs and Mary Ann Clark Gibbs. He received his education in the Charlton County Public School System and graduated with the Class of 1995.
His natural athletic ability set him apart at an early age. He excelled as a runner on the track team, earning many victories and even setting a state record in the 400-meter dash. After high school, he pursued higher education at Albany State University before serving his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps.
He will be remembered as a man of wisdom, encouragement, and humor. He was known for sharing words that inspired, for his wit that could bring laughter in any room, and for his heart that always placed family first. Throughout his life, he worked in various occupations, but his greatest commitment was to his loved ones. No matter the challenges, his goal was always to demonstrate how much his family meant to him. His presence, guidance, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Gibbs; maternal grandparents, Mark Sr. & Annie Clark; and paternal grandparents, Nathaniel Sr. & Lou Ann Gibbs.
To carry on his legacy, he leaves his devoted mother, Mary Ann Clark-Gibbs; two beloved sons, Pastor Dionte Smith and Narada O. Gibbs, Jr.; three cherished daughters, Namyra Gibbs, Nariah Davis, and Jada Gibbs; three treasured grandchildren, Brylon Gibbs, Brayson Gibbs, and Maverick Nelson; one loving sister, Choney Gibbs; a special & devoted friend, Debra Davis; 1 special nephew, Christopher Ahmad Reed; 2 treasured nieces, Natyana Reed and Anirah Haston; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will forever hold his memory in their hearts.
