Mr. Robert Lee Williams was born on April 1, 1947, in Waycross (Ware County), Georgia, to the late Janie Williams and Harrison Williams Sr. He received his education through the Ware County School System.
During his adult life, Robert was employed at Saint Regis Plywood, where he worked as a stacker, and later at Waycross Molded as a press operator until the company closed. Following a serious car accident, he retired.
Robert enjoyed living a stress-free life and was well-known for cruising around town shirtless. He loved watching Western and action movies and listening to oldies but goodies in his man cave. He also found joy in relaxing on his front porch. Though he was a man of few words, Robert had a special way of expressing his love, often saying, “I love you too, baby.”
On Tuesday afternoon, March 17, 2026, Robert answered the final call from God at his home.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Josephine Baker, Margaret Taylor, and Doris Gray; and three brothers, Homer Williams, Harrison Williams Jr., and Billy Williams.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife, Joanne Williams; four children: Robin Williams of Waycross, Georgia; Robert Mitchell of Homerville, Georgia; Cornelius Williams of Charleston, South Carolina; and Shana Ford of South Korea. He also leaves eleven grandchildren: Alaisha Chatman, Jhemari Maxwell, Terrica Williams, Zareah Brown, Jacques Mitchell, Kenya Brown, Traevon Mitchell, Azaria Thomas, Elise Ford, Alicia Ford, and Anthony Ford; and nineteen great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by two sisters, Janet Brown of Atlanta, Georgia, and Denise White (Rhonell) of Valdosta, Georgia; two brothers-in-law, Freddie Taylor (Shirley) of Jesup, Georgia, and Sam Thomas (Pearle) of Nashville, Georgia; and three sisters-in-law, Edith Hunter of Waycross, Georgia, Betty Browning of Valdosta, Georgia, and Lottie Thomas of Douglas, Georgia.
Robert also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will cherish his memory.
Family and friends are being received at 604 Sargeant Street, Waycross, GA. Please continue to keep the family in prayer during this difficult time.
