Mr. Samuel Michael Walker was born in Waycross, Georgia to the late John W. Walker and Lillian Battle Walker. He transitioned from labor to reward on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at HCA Florida Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, FL.
Mr. Walker was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Waycross, GA. Michael spent most of his life in Newberry, SC where he worked and retired as a plywood laborer at Georgia Pacific. He will be remembered for his hard-working spirit, generosity, and his warm-hearted personality. He loved being surrounded by family and everything sports related. In recent years he returned home and was well-known for his attention to detail in keeping everyone’s car "clean as a whistle." His friendly nature and willingness to lend a hand left an impact on those around him...he will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, John W. Walker, Jr..and Lillian Battle Walker. and brother Harry Walker.
Michael leaves to cherish his memories, two loving daughters, Sabrina Walker of Baltimore, MD and Kayishia Walker (Tochuku) of Athens, GA; nephews, John W. Walker III (Trey), Jayson Walker, and a niece, Jennifer Walker; uncle, Samuel Battle, and aunt Betty Dunson. A host of extended nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 7,2024, at 12:00 noon in the St. John Missionary Baptist Church.
