On Thursday, November 20, 2025, our Lord and Savior welcomed Sister Ella LaVaughn Davis into His loving arms. A woman whose life overflowed with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family, friends, and church, Ella stood as a true pillar of togetherness. Her presence brought comfort, unity, and joy to all who were blessed to know her.
As a child, Ella attended Center High School, proudly graduating with the Class of 1961, the Tigers. She accepted Christ at a very young age at St. Peter’s Missionary Baptist Church, where she became a devoted member and remained faithful even as her health began to decline. Ella served wholeheartedly in both the Junior and Senior Choirs, giving her all in praise and worship. She was a lifelong member of the Branch Community and an active participant in The Walters Addition Community Club.
Professionally, Ella dedicated many years of loyal service to Memorial Hospital, where she worked diligently and retired as a respected cafeteria supervisor.
Ella was the eldest daughter of the late Mack and Bruna Daniels. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Daniels, and her grandson, Chris Fuller.
Left to cherish her memories are two sons: Victor Daniels (Michele) and Shawn Davis (Michelle); three sisters: Maxine Daniels, Mildred Porter and Shelly Troutman. She is also lovingly remembered by a special granddaughter, Zakiya Washington, whom she lovingly raised.
Ella leaves behind her god-sister, Jennifer Monford, and her god-daughters, LaSha McCray and Michelle Warren. She also shared a special bond with her great-great-nephew, Kannon Davis “short legs”. Additional family who mourn her passing include her brother-in-law, Ronnie Davis, and her sister-in-law, Jean McCrae: her grandchildren: Victor Daniels Jr., Miyah Daniels, James Daniels, Chaznic Calhoun, Christina Fuller, and Ajalein Monroe; along with many other great-grandchildren, cousins, and cherished friends.
Please keep the family in prayer during this difficult time.
