Mrs. Janie Mae (Haywood) Lambert was born on April 3, 1944, to the late Leroy Barber and Louise Sharpe.
She was raised in Folkston, GA and received her education in the Charlton County Public School System.
Throughout her life, Jannie Mae was known for her strong personality, her strong work ethic and willingness to help. Much of her working career was spent at the lumber mill (Union Camp) where she was respected for her reliability and skill.
Outside of work, she was an extremely talented seamstress and possessed a deep passion for fishing.
Jannie Mae was the proud mother of five children. Daughter, Shirlene Haywood; sons, Fredrick, Victor, Bernard and Jordy Lambert. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Shirlene Haywood, her son, Jordy Lambert and three siblings, John Henry and Arthur Eugene and Josephine Sharpe.
Jannie Mae shared a special and loving bond with her two eldest granddaughters, Tameka “Shea” (Willie) Douglas and Demetra “Detria” (Toron) Ambrister, whom she considered her own.
Jannie passed from this life on December 15, 2025.
To carry on her legacy, she leaves her beloved sons: Fredrick Lambert, Victor (Tonya) Lambert, and Bernard Lambert; two sisters: Elsie Sharpe and Elvira Williams; nine grandchildren: Kristen Lambert, Fredrick Lambert II, Kendall Benton, Jimetria Houston, Victor Jr. (Jabria), Tre’Sean (M’khai), and Inshaya Lambert; nineteen great grandchildren: Sadarius, Javontae, Cedrick, De’Andria, Samiah, Brianna and Jamal Douglas, Raven and Ciera Jones, Maia, Kiara, and Tameia Ambrister, Jaylen Adams, Bailey Hart, Fredrick Lambert III, Kenedy and Kyla Benton, Lyric and Legacy Jones; three great great grandchildren: Zamari Douglas, Ekari Wilson and Zy’mir Mckenzie; along with a host of cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
