MRS. JEANINE DAVIS Obituary

Mrs. Jeanine Antoinette (Todd) Davis, born on September 12, 1961, in Los Angeles, California, lived a life filled with love, purpose, and unwavering dedication to her family and community.

Jeanine was raised in Los Angeles by her loving parents, the late John Fredrick Todd Sr. and Betty Todd. From a young age, her fiery personality and protective nature shone brightly. A devoted sister, Jeanine never hesitated to stand up for her siblings. During her childhood, she and her siblings were members of the 28th Street Marlins swim team, where she excelled in backstroke. Her athletic talents continued to flourish at Beverly Hills High School, where she became a standout track star. Jeanine’s 1977 record in the 4x440 relay still stands today—a lasting testament to her grit and determination.

Jeanine pursued her education at Tuskegee University, where she aspired to become a nurse. It was there that she met the love of her life, Norman Davis Jr. The two were inseparable. After a few years of dating, they returned to California and married on January 9, 1988. Over 36 years of love and partnership, they built a beautiful life together, beginning with the birth of their first child, Bianca.

Jeanine and Norman combined their entrepreneurial spirits to establish their carpet cleaning business, Spotbusters, featuring the tagline Jeanine crafted to match her fearless demeanor: “We ain’t afraid of no spots.” As their love flourished, their family grew with the addition of two more children, Norman III and Kelsey.

Seeking new opportunities, Jeanine and Norman relocated their family to Waycross, Georgia, where they thrived as entrepreneurs while nurturing their children. Jeanine’s life revolved around her family and community.

Jeanine was a mother like no other. She poured her heart into raising her children, instilling in them the values of hard work, resilience, and compassion. Whether coaching basketball teams, cheering from the sidelines, or offering sage advice, she was deeply involved in every aspect of their lives. She was their fiercest advocate, greatest cheerleader, and unwavering source of love and support.

Her role as a grandmother brought her unparalleled joy. Known as “GiGi” to her six grandchildren—Skylar, Londyn, Timothy Jr., Gianna, Kylar, and Saedi—Jeanine’s love for them knew no bounds. She delighted in their accomplishments, cherished their laughter, and found endless pride in watching them grow. To her grandchildren, she was a confidante, playmate, and source of boundless love and wisdom. She was ecstatic about the upcoming birth of her seventh grandchild this January.

Jeanine had a gift for connecting with people, whether counseling her children’s friends or standing up for her beliefs. Her fiery spirit and determination were hallmarks of her personality, and her impact on those around her was immeasurable.

She is preceded in death by her father, John Fredrick Todd Sr., and her grandmother, Gladys Mae English.

Jeanine is survived by her devoted husband, Norman Davis Jr.; her children, Bianca Davis, Norman III (Samantha), and Kelsey Davis; and her six cherished grandchildren: Skylar, London, Tim Jr., Giana, Kylar, and Saedi. She also leaves behind her loving mother, Betty Todd; her siblings, Andre Todd (Holly), John Todd (April), and Latrese Jackson (William); nieces Monica, Maya, and Lauren; nephews Miles, William III, and John III; and countless others whose lives she touched.

Jeanine’s legacy of love, resilience, and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
