MRS. LOUISE JENKINS Obituary

(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)we are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.)  2 Corinthians 5:7-8

Louise Pickett Jenkins, affectionately known to her family and close friends as Pick, was born on November 05, 1949, in Alma, Georgia to the late Neal Pickett, Sr. and Pearlie Mae Pickett.  She departed this life on September 30, 2024, at Altamaha Health Center in Jesup, Georgia.  She was educated in the Bacon County School System.

Louise was a member of First African Baptist Church at an early age. She was married to the late Clize Jenkins.  Louise had no kids but always catered to her nieces, nephews, and children of the community.  She lived a life centered around love, laughter, giving, and RECEIVING.   Those who knew her would expect her to ask for something, but she didn’t only take, she was a generous giver and remembered everyone’s birthday.

Louise had two sisters preceding her departure, Annette (James) Reynolds, of Lake Wales, Florida and Claudia (Willie aka Chipp) Rainey of Hazlehurst, Georgia; One brother, Neal Pickett of Milledgeville, Georgia; Grandmother, Corine Stephens of Alma, Georgia

Her memories and everlasting love will continue to live in the hearts of her family:  Her two sisters, Louella Wooden and Easter Corlisa Smith (aka Lisa), both of Alma, Georgia; three brothers, Gary (Juanita) Pickett, Alvin Pickett, of Alma, Georgia and Wilson Pickett of Mt. Vernon, Georgia; three nieces, Della aka Slick (William aka Chubby) Madison of Alma, Georgia, Sirlina Staten of Conyers, Georgia, and Angel Murphy of Atlanta, Georgia; two nephews, Tyrone Trimble of Atlanta, Georgia and Chris (Aneesha) Edwards; two great nephews, William Caleb (Jennie) Madison Sr., and Eddie Jermaine (Haley) Madison Sr., both of Alma, Georgia;  one great-great nephews, William Caleb Madison Jr., of Alma, Georgia; four great-great-great nephews, Eddie Jermaine Jr. Julian Wiley, Jayden Madison, and Jacobe Madison, all of Alma, Georgia; two great-great nieces, Shree (Jordan) Wiley, of Alma, Georgia, and Shanlee Wilcox of Tifton, Georgia; one great-great-great niece, Blackley Madison, of Alma, Georgia; and a host of loving family members and friends who will miss her dearly.  Three special cousins, Louise (Isaac) Meyers, of Brunswick, Georgia, Rosina (Clark) Williams of Miami, Florida and Ruby Jean Taylor, of Valdosta, Georgia.
