Sister Mattie Beatrice West Davis was born on June 27, 1944, in Milledgeville, Georgia to the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee West, Sr. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She moved to Newark New Jersey, continuing her education, where she met Willie Davis and was joined in holy matrimony. To this union they were blessed with a son and daughter.
Mattie served as a supervisor, for many years, with the Department of Family and Children Services and FedEx.
On February 3, 2026, she entered her heavenly home after a brief illness with no pain or suffering. Maddie was proceeding in death by her loving and devoted husband Willie Lee Davis and sister-in-law Susie Davis.
She leaves to cherish her memory. Son, Alan Davis of Newark, New Jersey; daughter, Lee Andrea Davis of Newark, New Jersey; sisters, Bessie West of Milledgeville, Georgia, Lillian Gaddis (Cleve) and Ester Hopsen (Oliver) both of Palm Springs, Florida; four sister in-laws, Christine Davis,(Abraham), Minnie Douglas(David), Barbara Davis(Carl) and Linda Anderson(Robert); numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends.
Family and friends are being received at 855 Woodlake Street, Waycross, GA. February 11-13, 2026, from 4-8 pm. Please keep the family in prayer during this difficult time.
