MRS. OLLIE MAE GRANT

Ollie Mae Blackshear Grant peacefully entered eternal rest on December 20, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida. Born April 22, 1951, in Bristol, Georgia, she was the third of eight children blessed to Oliver and Mollie Blackshear.

Ollie Mae received her education in the Waycross Public School System. In 1967, she united in holy matrimony with George Grant, Sr. She worked diligently at Carter’s House and later at Ivey’s Laundry, where her strong work ethic and warm spirit touched many lives, until her health began to decline.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Gloria Blackshear and Janice Blackshear Sallet; and brother, Larry Blackshear.

Ollie Mae leaves to cherish her memory two beloved sons: George W. Grant, Jr. (Latrece) and Cornelius B. Grant (Alisha), both of Waycross, GA; grandchildren, Melzella Grant of Waycross, Symone Grant of Atlanta, George D. Grant of Argyle, Caniyah Grant and Ja’Liyah Grant, both of Waycross; two great-grandchildren, Kyrion Carter and Harlan Ingram; one brother, James P. Blackshear (Betty) of Waycross; three sisters, Earnestine Blackshear of Folkston, Betty B. Sallet, and Annette B. English (William) of Waycross; a special cousin, Jessie Mae Jones of Waycross; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever hold her close in their hearts.

Her love, laughter, and kindness will remain a guiding light for all who knew her. Though she has departed this earthly life, her legacy of faith, family, and compassion will live on for generations to come.

Family and friends will be received Friday and Saturday December 26 & 27 from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm at 948 Nevada Ave, Waycross, GA. Please continue to keep the family in prayer during this difficult time.
