Mrs. Viola Mingo MIller, 77, was born on July 14, 1948, in Homerville, Georgia, to the late George and Marie Mingo. She grew up in Homerville, attending school, and spent her early years playing softball and enjoying life’s simple pleasures. Her heart was centered around Browns Chapel Church and her church family which brought her joy. For many years she worked at Homerville sewing Factory as a seamstress. Viola was known for her sewing talent, her skills in the kitchen at family gatherings, and her love of shopping for just the right treasures. Viola's warmth, love, and zest for life left lasting impressions on anyone she came in contact with.
Viola found the love of her life, Oliver "Pete" Miller, with whom she shared 52 wonderful years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Pete, a granddaughter Alicia Carter, her sisters Lannie (Charles) Gamble, and Alice Marie; brothers Jerry Mingo, Robert Mingo, George Mingo, and Ernest Mingo.
She leaves to cherish her memories her children: Oliver (Quatialis) Monroe of Lakeland, GA, Paul Miller Jr. of Douglasville, GA, Stanley (April) Miller of Marietta, GA; Herbert (Kandis) Mingo of Douglas, GA, Patricia Taylor of Marietta, GA, Edythe Miller of Douglasville, GA, Melissa (Harrison) Jackson and Melinda (Dillil) Carter of Homerville, GA. She also lovingly raised as her own, Latrisha Mingo and De’Andre Mingo both of Homerville, GA.; 17 grandchildren, 30 Great grandchildren and 7 Great great grandchildren; Sister, Patricia (George) Cooper of Hahira, GA; Brothers: Timothy Mingo and Willie Mingo both of Miami, FL, Lewis (Barbara) Mingo of Valdosta, GA, and Donald (Carolyn) Mingo of Albany, GA; She also leaves behind a special friend like a daughter, Rhonda "Coosie" Cross; a special nephew, Andrew (Ann) Wells of Homerville, GA; an extended family the Wells of Homerville, GA; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Family and friends are being received at 160 Poppell Square, Homerville, GA.
