Terry Glenn Witchard, a beloved son, grandson, cousin, colleague, and friend peacefully transitioned from his earthly home at the age of 73 on January 24, 2025, at Harborview Satilla.
Terry, affectionately known as “Witchard” was born to the late CarmaLee Fantroyal Davis and John Lee Witchard, of Newark, New Jersey. Terry’s grandparents, John Fantroyal, Sr., and Lucille Brunswick Fantroyal preceded him in death. Terry graduated from Center High School Class of 1969 and began working at the Railroad on August 1, 1969. He was U.S. Navy Veteran and upon serving his time returned home and went back to work at the Railroad.
Terry was known as “Chief” at the Railroad. He was a Utility Worker/Sand Crane Operator, Engine Mover fuel locomotive. Terry loved his job and worked diligently until his retirement on August 14, 2020, after 47 years of service.
Terry attended St. Peters Missionary Baptist Church. Terry, a gentle giant, who genuinely cared about people, helped a lot of people, loved music, cars, watching TV and eating at Nana’s Country Buffet.
Those left to cherish his memory are a host of cousins: Lucille Freeman of Waycross, Georgia, Ronnie (Catherine) Freeman of Fayetteville, Georgia, Janice Freeman McLean, Donna Freeman Jordan, Sharon Freeman Munford, Terrence Freeman of Waycross, Georgia, Kier (Pam) Freeman of Fayetteville, Georgia, Derek (Nafeesah) Freeman, of Conley Georgia, Necole Freeman Parker, Hagerstown, Maryland and John E. Fantroyal “Popcorn” (Bernette) of Conyers, Georgia, a Bonus Mother, Mrs. Evelyn Reid, his Bonus family in Collins, Georgia, (Rudy), and other cousins and friends.
