MS. DELORES DIANE (HARRIS) ROBERSON

Diane was born in Waycross, GA.  on February 3, 1950, daughter of the late Taylor Harris, Sr., and Marguerita Mincey Harris. She transitioned from labor to reward early Wednesday morning January 31, 2024, at Memorial Satilla Health.

Diane received her education from the Waycross school system. Her work experience included social work with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, Program Assistant with the Pontiac Area Urban League. Diann’s work and personal reward came from helping others reach their full potential. 

Diane spent nearly 32 years in Pontiac, Michigan where she continued her education and work. Before retiring and returning home to Waycross in 2012.

Diane became a member of the Faith of God Holiness Church under the tutelage of Bishop Larry Atkinson.

She was a force of nature with a dynamic personality and a contagious laugh. She had many friends and never met a stranger. Diane tackled every challenge that came her way with diligence and dignity. She loved God, her family, and friends. She was an avid lover of music. Diane enjoyed attending concerts, festivals and would be one of the first to hit the dance floor. She also enjoyed traveling, reading, great food, and a good cup of coffee.

Diane will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched. She was amusing, amiable, determined, kind and very understanding.

Besides her parents, she is also preceded in death by her son Jack Lamar Roberson, Jr.; two sisters, Carrie Harris, and Zelphia Harris Cooper; and one brother, Elder Taylor Harris, Jr.

Diane leaves to cherish her memories, a loving and devoted daughter, Tracey Roberson (Eddie) of Atlanta, GA, one sister, Juliette McGauley (Freddie) of Waycross, GA; two granddaughters, Taylor Roberson of Pontiac, MI and Zelphia Roberson of Oak Harbor, Ohio; one sister-in law, Selena Harris of Waycross, GA and a host of nephews, great nephews, great nieces, cousins, and friends.

Family and friends are being received at 1207 Mosley Street, Waycross, GA. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at 1:00 pm, in the Faith Of God Holiness Church, 1509 Louisiana Ave, Waycross, GA. Please keep the family in prayer during this difficult time.
