Matriarch Thelma Robinson Mobley was born December 9, 1930 in Douglas (Coffee County), Georgia to the late Frank Robinson and Annie Graham Robinson.
She moved to Waycross, Georgia as a young lady where she joined Greater St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church and served as a choir member for many years. She was the matriarch of her family and the mother of seven children.
On Friday February 19, 2021 God called her to her heavenly home after an illness. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three children, Levon Speed, Wallace Speed, James Stanford; two grandchildren, Waltina Speed, Teresa Wal’lace Speed; siblings, Jay Robinson, Fred Robinson, Charles Robinson and Annie Mae Easton.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Calvin Speed (Naomi), Thelma Black (Deacon Harry), Barbara Bullard (Gregory) and Debra Moore; a sister, Emma Ransey ;three brothers, Clarence Robinson (Barbara), James Robinson (Katie) and Artis Robinson (Carolyn); fifteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren ;nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Oakland Cemetery with her pastor, Rev. Johnny Arnold, bringing words of comfort. Public visitation will be held Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Fluker Funeral Home, 985 Ossie Davis Parkway, Waycross, Georgia.
