Mother Francetta Works Calderon was born in Bolen ( Ware County), Georgia to the late Julius Works and Bertha Lee Jenkins Works, the eldest of five children, on October 29, 1945.
She lived in Stuart, Florida for many years before moving to Waycross, Ga. in 1992. After moving to Waycross she became a faithful member of New Mount Pleasant Baptist Church where she served on the Mother Body and the nursing Guild.
She departed this life on Monday October 25, 2021 at her residence. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her only child, Delilah Denise in 2007.
Those left to cherish her memory include a sister, Rosetta Ashmore of San Antonio ,Tx,; two grandsons, Rodney Wilson of Statesboro, a. and Michael Works, of Waycross, Ga.; two great grandchildren; one great great grandson; two special cousins. Eddie Pearl Brown of Waycross, Georgia and Gloria Jean jones of Florida; a other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held Sunday October 31, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in Barnar Memorial Cemetery, Smith Road, Waycross, Georgia, with her pastor Rev. Jackie Hooper Sr. Officiating.
Final and most sacred arrangements are entrusted to the professional care of Fluker Funeral Home, 985 Ossie Davis Parkway, Waycross, GA.
