Mother Mary Lee Barnes was born April 6, 1929 in Waycross, Georgia to the late Arthur Lee Jenkins and Viola Gary Jenkins. She received received her formal education from the Waycross Public School System.
Mother Barnes accepted Christ at an early age and had a personal relationship with the Lord. She was a faithful member of Emanuel International Cathedral under the leadership of Dr. Bishop Michael Angelo James.
She worked many years as a dry-cleaner presser and later worker at Wayross Machine Shop. In the lateral part of her life she worked as a Certified Nurse Assistance (CAN) at Baptist Village Nursing Home and Ware Manor Health & Rehab Center. Her hobbies were cooking, sewing, gardening and reading.
On Thursday, June 11, 2020 God called her from her earthly home to her heavenly home. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Jenkins and nine siblings(Annie Mae, Alberta, Alice, Bennie, Albert, Samuel, Charlie, Percie and Beech.
Those left to cherish her memory include two son's: Carl Jenkins (Jackie) and Lionel Jenkins Sr.; three grandsons, Lionel Jenkins Jr., Romario Jenkins and Erevette Richardson; four granddaughters, Carlethia Jenkins, Natoya Jenkins, Latisha Jenkins, Stephanie Jenkins and Tawanna Byrgess; twenty great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren; four step grandchildren, eighteen step great grandchildren; fifteen step great great grandchildren ;four nieces, Debra Wells (Vonnie), Veronica Washington (Stevon), Kimberly Smith (M elvin) and Mary Lee Johnson; three nephews, Rodney Booker (Kimberly), Maurice Booker (Rebecca) and Larry Johnson; a God son, Bob Orhold; five God daughter, Missionary Cheryl O’Hara, Missionary Mabalena Baker, Patrice Calhoun, Jacqueline- Farmer and Mozella Polite.
A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, June 20,2020 at 11:00 a.m. in Lee-Moore Cemetery on Lucy Moore Road, Ware County, Georgia with Dr. Bishop Michael Angelo James, pastor of Emanuel's International Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, officiating.
