Mr. Andrew Hill Obituary

Deacon Andrew C. Hill passed away peacefully on Monday, February 22, 2021 at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, FL with his loving family by his side.  He was born on February 5, 1945 in Waycross, GA, to the late Sr. Bishop Albert Hill, D.D. and National First Lady, Mother Artelia Hill.  He was raised in Waycross, GA and graduated from Center High School, Ware County.   Deacon Hill worked for CSX Railroad for 25 years.  He learned the Craft of a Machinist and worked until he was able to retire.

He received Christ at an early age and attended church all his life.  Andrew was an active member of many churches his Father, the late Senior Bishop Albert Hill pastored in surrounding areas of Waycross, GA, Blackshear, Alma, and Savannah, GA.  After moving to Jacksonville, FL, he joined Greater Hill’s Temple where he served on the Deacon Board, and later was appointed Chairman Deacon because of his outstanding and dedicated service to the church.  He continued serving and was later elected as the National Youth President of the First Born Church of the Living God, Inc.  After a transition in the church, Deacon Hill continued his service as National Youth President under the leadership of Dr. Leonard Goode, Senior Bishop of the Faith United Church of the Living God, Inc.

Deacon Hill was a loving husband and father who always brought laughter in a family setting.  He was loved and highly esteemed by his family and friends.  If you ever begin a conversation about Christ in his presence, he would be on target and it would be difficult to stop him from conversing about the Word of God.  He was a great peacemaker and often consoled many in his surroundings.  Because of his training, Andrew believed in dressing like a distinctive Man of God and conducted himself with the persona of a Holy man. He was a great singer, pianist, organist which he loved dearly until he could no longer play due to his illness.  Andrew really loved the traditional gospel music which would get down to one’s soul.  He will long be remembered for his kindness and pleasing personality.  Deacon Hill was the ninth son out of twelve siblings.

Preceding him in death was his Mother, National First Lady Artelia Hill, Father, Senior Bishop Albert Hill, D.D., and five brothers:  Melvin Hill, Bartholomew Hill, McKinley Hill, Sr., Bishop Johnnie Lee Hill, Sr., Albert Hill, Jr., Reverend Nathaniel Hill, and a special nephew, Deacon Ronald C. Hill.

He leaves to mourn his demise, the love of his life Brenda Hill, wife of almost 54 years.  Four remarkable children: Aundrea, Artelia, Alex, (Lucy), and Katricia Hill Rouse (Carl), Two brothers, Samuel (Goldie) of New York, and Willie James of New York.  Three sisters of Jacksonville, FL: Mary L. Shingles (Jimmy), Dr. Martha H. Goode, (Sr.  Bishop Leonard Goode, D.D.), and Dr. Lavern Hill, D.D., Grandchildren: Mafias Torres, Iahanna McNealy, Spencer D. Hill (Kimberly), Antonio A.
