Charles Paul Williams, 71, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, December 5, 2021. Charles was born on March 17, 1950, near Blackshear, Georgia to the late Floy Mae and Lawrence Williams.
Spending most of his childhood growing up in the South, Charles along with his mother and several of his siblings made their journey up North where he would spend the majority of his adulthood in the city of brotherly love, Philadelphia. A perfect nickname for a city for a young man who had a total of 10 brothers. The family would not have been complete without the joys of having 4 sisters as well. Charles was preceded in death by his siblings; Loddy Mae, Lorine Marie, Doris, Peter, Willie Lawrence (Junior), Lester (Manson), Albert (Bruh), Jerry (Pee Wee), Eddie Lee (Bo), Willie Lee (Bobby) and Homer Bee. His brothers Eddie David, Lewis and sister Geraldine continue to carry the legacy of the great Williams Family.
Joined in that legacy are his 10 children: Charles E., Jamerson, Charles P., Cherrea, Jerome, Chelette, Matthew, Maurice, Michael, and Joshua, seven of which are with his wife of forty-seven, Jeanette. He also leaves thirty-four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Charles was considered a jack of all trades having mastered roofing, general contracting, and a host of other skills. His favorite pastime was fishing, followed by hunting and taught all his children and many others the joys of these activities. Charles spent his final days in Waycross, Georgia, a town he always called home.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.
Graveside funeral service will be held Friday December 17, 2021, 10:00 am at Oakland Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements by Fluker Funeral Home, 985 Ossie Davis Parkway, Waycross, Georgia.
