Mr. Curtis Simon Sr. was born February 12, 1939 in Moultrie, Ga. to the late Eddie Lee Simmon Sr. and Marie Wilkins Simon. He lived in Homerville (Clinch County, Georgia most of his life.
He worked in the timber industry for many years. After retiring from the timber industry he was employed in 2017 with the Homerville Housing Authority until his health started to decline.
He departed this life on September 16, 2020 in Orange Park, Fl. after an illness. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years Betty Jean Simmon, a son, Eddie Simmon sister Daisey Ferguson, a brother Eddie Simon Jr. and a granddaughter Ladact Simon.
Those left to cherish his memory three daughters, Maxine Simon, Barbara Hall and Ginger Grant (William); two sons, Curtis Simon Jr. amd Donell Simon; three sisters, Annie Lois Turner (Sharoll), Pearlie Burgess and Clara Bingham; three brothers, Willie Simon (Josephine), Johnny Simon (Sharon), Samuel Simon (Susie) :setp mother, Mildred Simmon a step brother, Greg Franklin; 19 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; special cousin, Willie Simon Gamble; a special niece, Crystal Rice ;a compassionate caretaker, Catina Lacey; nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held Sunday September 27, 2020 at St. Paul Baptist Church 600 Reddick Street in Homerville, Ga. Vistation will be held Sunday at the church from 12:30 p.m. to the hour of service. Interment will be in Pine Forest Cemetery.
