Reginald Clayton Murphy was born February 24, 1956 to Margret Troup Murphy and the late Ronald Clayton Murphy. He received his formal education from the Waycross Public School System and graduated from Waycross High School in 1974.. He further his education by attending Albany State College (now University) and Waycross College.
He accept Christ as his personal Savior at an early and joined St. John Missionary Baptist Church where was a faithful member until his demise. He was an employee with The Waycross Public Works Department for over twenty-one where he was employee of the month in August 2017.
On Wednesday, August 19, 2020 God called his child-Reginald Clayton Murphy-to his heavenly home.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Linne Cooper Murphy; Mother Margaret Troup Murphy of Waycross, Ga.; two sisters, Ronda Murphy Griffin (George) of Waycross and Gwen Murphy Mitchell (Jerry) of Huntsville, Al.; an aunt, Lula Jean Troup Robinson of Albany, Ga.; three uncles, Donald Murphy Sr. of Waycross, Marshal R. Troup (Brenda) of Atlanta, Ga. and Dewitt Troup (Joanne) of Brunswick, Ga.; five step children, Earl Thomas (Sarah) of Germany, Master Chief Lyrell Thomas (Surlonda) of Norfolk, Va., Steve Thomas (June) of Richmond hILL, Ga.., Brad Thomas (Carsha) of Clarksville, Tenn. and Tonya Thomas (Sam) of Nahunta, Ga.; five sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relative and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday August 29, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in Oakland Cemetery with Rev. Fer-Rell M. Malone Sr., pastor Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, Waycross, Ga., presiding and Elder Stanley Evans, pastor Greater New Miracle First Born Church, Nahunta, Ga., bring words of comfort. Public visitation will be Friday 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Fluker Funeral Home 985 Ossie Davis Parkway, Waycross, Ga.
