Mr. Willie Maddox Sr. Obituary

Mr. Willie E. Maddox was born on August 9, 1935 in Avon Park, FL to his late mother Evelyn Marie Johnson. He worked as a longtime traveling dredgemen for over 30 years, where he operated heavy tractor machinery. Throughout those years he acquired 4 very close friends: Joe Limehouse, Robert Brooks, Willie McComb, and Jerry Porter. Outside of dredging, he had a few other friends but 2 of the closest ones were Meredith Hannah and Ronald (Pop). He enjoyed going to the casino, taking chances on the lottery, listening to music (Al Green) and spending quality time with his family. Willie was big on wearing nice suits and Cadillacs were always his vehicles of choice.

He peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his son, Rodney Eugene Maddox and daughter, Karen Renee Maddox-Delaughter.

His beautiful life will forever be cherished by his loving wife, Mary Loretta Maddox. Sister: Gloria Troop, 6 children: Evelyn Smith-Richards (Harold Richards), Willie E. Maddox Jr. (Jeanette Maddox), Kenyata Daniels, Jimmy Jordan, Lonnie Jenkins Jr., Lisa Maddox; mother-in-law: Lillie Dell Jordan (late Johnny C. Jordan) sister-in-law: Samantha Hall (Michael) 7 brothers-in-law: Joseph Jordan (Victoria), Alvin Jordan (Renae), Bernard Jordan, Claude Jordan (Lisa), Deric Jordan (Sheena), Eric Jordan and a host of wonderful grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, other relatives; a special phone friend, Victoria Jordan and sorrowing friends.

Final and most sacred arrangements are entrusted to the professional care of Fluker Funeral Home, 985 Ossie Davis Parkway, Waycross, GA.
