Mrs. Arlinda Louise (Cooper) Smith

April 7, 1968 ~ October 1, 2021 (age 53)

Mrs. Arlinda Cooper Smith was born April 7, 1968, in Ware County, Georgia to the late James Willie Cooper, Sr. and Vasalona Brown Cooper. She received her formal education in the Waycross Public School System graduating with the Class of 1988 at Waycross High School. Early in her life she accepted Christ as her personal savior and was baptized at First Born Church of the Living God under the leadership of Bishop H.J. Echols as her pastor. She served on the usher board for many years and was employed as a cashier for years with the Walmart Corporation in Waycross, GA.

Linda, as she was affectionately known, furthered her carrier and went on to work at Ware Manor Nursing Home as a CNA and then Satilla Memorial Health Hospital for 17 years as an LPN until she became disabled. She loved to cook and helped her community by feeding others. Linda was a very dedicated wife, nurse, mother and grandmother, always smiling and loved make up as a hobby. She had a fabulous style that caused heads to turn when she entered the room.

On Friday October 1, 20201 at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross, GA, God called his angel to her heavenly home.

Linda was proceeded in death by her parents Vasalona and James Cooper, Sr.; brothers Frankie Lee Moore, Mack Howard, Pete Lamar Cooper and James Cooper, Jr.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband Travis L. Smith of Waycross, GA; her sons Gregory Jerrod (Kim) Simpson of Waycross, GA, Brandon James (Tiffany)  Simpson of North Carolina; brothers, Curtis (Raynelle) Cooper of Savannah, GA and Henry Howard of Waycross, GA; Grandchildren Elijah Simpson of Minnesota, Camiya Simpson of Jacksonville, FL, Brayson, Tayvon, Arion and Callon all of North Carolina.
