Mrs. Delores (Poller) Jones

Sis. Delores Poller Jones was born  May 27, 1935 in Cairo (Grady County), Georgia to the late Bishop Calvin Poller and Idella Evers Poller. She was one of five children born to this union.

"Lois" as she was affectionately known, grew up in Waycross where she received her formal education from the Public School System.

She lived a life with love for God and family. She was a very active person, an avid fitness and tennis instructor. Her hobbies included pottery making, swimming , and traveling just to name a few.

She loved her congregation Church of Christ Written in Heaven. where she serviced as choir president, President of the Pastor Aid Club and was the pre-opening coordinator of the National Convocation.

A mother of two sons, she became the "other mother" to all of her nieces and nephews who will miss her wisdom and love.

On Tuesday October 20, 2020 God called her from her earthly home to her heavenly home. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husband, Frank L. Jones; siblings., Bobby Poller, Alvin Poller and Frank Poller.

Those  left to cherish her memory include her devoted sons, Clifford Van Bogus (Herriann) and Barry Lywood Jones (Ultrelle) both of Waycross, Ga. her sister, Susan Poller Crawford of Waycross, Ga.; her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Gone but never to be forgotten, her legacy will lie on in the hearts of those privileged to to have known her.

A graveside service will be held Monday, October 26, 2020 in Oakland Cemetery, 2410 Alice Street, Waycross,GA. with Bishop Clarence Adamson presiding and her pastor, Bishop John Moss bringing words of comfort.
