Sis. Elizabeth Sires Lewis, peacefully enter into internal rest on Wednesday june 1,2022. She was born to th e late Foster Sires Sr. and Elizabeth Thomas Sires July 18, 1930 in Waycross (ware County), Georgia. She received her formal education from the Waycross Public School System and graduated from Center High School in 1949.
Lil Sister, as she was fondly called, moved to Oakland, Ca. after high school where she met and married the late Vernon Harvey. They enjoyed many years together until his death. Years later after his death, she married the late retired Chief Pettey Officer, Jimmie L. Lewis. After his death, Elizabeth moved back to Waycross to live with her special niece, Dr. Linda Perry-Simpson. The two shared a home together for twenty five years.
She was a devoted member of Macedonia Baptist Church until her health began to fail. She enjoyed going to church services every Sunday.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents and husband were sibling, Johnny. L. Sires, Foster Sires jr., Sangaree Sires Perry, Crandall “CK” Sires sr., KyChester “Shorty’ Sires and James A. Sires.
She is survived dy a devoter sister (marth Sires Hicks (husband Lonnie), a special niece and guardian, Dr. Linda Perr-Simpson; a special nephew and co-guardian, Willie J. Perry (wife Yvonne) several nieces, nephews, and her Macedonia Baptist Church family.She will be missed by all who knew her.
A clelbration of life service will be held Saturday June 11, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Macedonial Missionary Baptist Church 702 Arnold McKinney Drive with the church pastor, Rev. Ferr-Rell M. molne Sr. bring words of comfort. Public visitation will be held Friday fro 4 to 6 p.m. at Fluker Funeral Home 985 Ossie Davis Parkway, Waycross, Georgia.
