Mrs. Georgette Bivins Davis was born June 5, 1936 in Waycross, Georgia. She was the only child of Isaac Bivins and Queen Thomas Bivins.
She lived in Philadelphia, Pa. for many years where received her formal education. She further her education by receiving several degrees including a nursing degree from Widener University in Philadelphia, Pa. and a Child Development Associates from Okefenokee Technical Institute in Waycross, Ga. She also studied abroad.
While in Philadelphia she a volunteer in her community and was very active with United Cerebral Palsy Associate. She also was employed at the Department of Veteran Affairs as a nurse in Philadelphia.
After moving back to Waycross she married Bishop Earnest Davis on August 16, 1994. In Waycross she was employed with Concerted Services, Inc. as a teacher.
She served as First Lady of Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church in Blackshear, Ga. and Mt. Grove Freewill Baptist Church in Edison, Ga.
On Saturday night September 5, 2020 God called her to her heavenly home after an illness.
Those left to cherish her memory include Eugene Davis (Armetha) of Waycross, Ga., Sabrina Rodriquez (Vincent) of Atlanta, Ga., John Davis and André Davis of New York, N.Y.; her grandchildren, Tanita Perce of Deltona, Fl., Monique Davis of Atlanta, Ga., Christine Lowham (Keith) of Woodbridge, Va., Victoria Davis of Waycross, Ga., Ashley Flynn of Atlanta, Ga. and Mondarius Flynn of Atlanta, Ga.; twelve great grandchildren; twenty one great great grandchildren; other relatives and friends including a special friend, Lenera Taylor of Waycross.
