Mrs. Jessie Mae Hamilton Green was born January 3, 1933 in Folkston, GA to Noah and Christina Hamilton. She married the late Shepherd Green Sr. She gave birth to 6 children. She received her formal education in the Charlton County Segregation School System.
Jessie Mae worked as a Housekeeper for many years and aided in the upbringing of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Cooking was her specialty especially around the holidays. She was a strong woman of few words but when she spoke, everyone listened. She loved her family and was committed to showing love to every one she met. Jessie Mae rededicated her life back to Christ in 2022, proclaiming that Jesus was her Lord and Savior.
On Wednesday, March 3, 2022, God called her from her earthly home to her eternal home after a brief illness. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 2 sons (Willie James Hamilton Sr. and Tony Marcell Green, Sr.) and 4 Sisters, Ruthie Lee Gibbs, Annie Mae Hamilton, Dorothy Mae Smith, and Emma Lee Porter.
She leaves to cherish one son - Eugene Everette; three Daughters - Yvonne (Joseph) Harvey, Mary (Sherman) Holzendorf, and Tammy Green; twenty Grandchildren, twenty five Great-Grandchildren, two Great-Great Children; a brother in Law - Frank Smith; A Special Friend - Evangelist Brenda Griffin; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
