Mrs. Najakka Z. Hargrove Lewis was born on February 28,1976 in Waycross, Georgia to Glenda Kennedy Faison and Johnny B. Members Jr. She is also the daughter of George M. Faison (Papa). She transitioned from labor to reward on Tuesday December 14, 2020 at Memorial Herman Medical Center in Houston, Texas.
In addition to her father Johnny, she is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Jim and Tommie Kennedy; paternal grandparents, Louise Members and Johnny B. Members Sr.
She joined Faith of God Holiness Church under the leadership of Bishop Larry Atkinson many years ago where she served as the choir director of the adult choir and was a member of the Praise Team.
“Jakka”, as she was affectionately known, was educated in the Waycross Public School system and graduated from Waycross High School in 1994. Upon graduation she attended Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, GA. She returned home and attended Waycross College and Valdosta State Unversity. She was also employed at Walker Jones Chevrolet Company as a receptionist. She received a Bachelor of Science degree as well as a Masters Degree in special education. She then attended Lesley Unversity/ Savannah Campus where she received a Education Specialist Degree. She was employed at Altama Elementary School in Brunswick, Georgia for more than ten years as a special education teacher and department header.
To her family “Jakka” was the motivator/Boss of everyone, the young and the old. She was passionate about all children especially the apple of her eye Keylee Rose aka/ her “week week”.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday December 23, 2020 in Oakland Cemetery 2410 Alice Street, Waycross, GA, with Bishop Larry Atkinson giving words of comfort. Public visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
