Mother Susie Mae Mincey was born on July 24, 1936 IN Patterson (Pierce County), Georgia to the late Daniel Lee Jernigan Sr. and Oppie Oats Jernigan.
She received her formal education from the Pierce County Public School System. She moved to Folkston, Georgia at an early age where she lived until her demise.
On March 24, 1956 she was joined in Holy matrimony to the late Edward Mincey Sr. This union was blessed with four daughters and three sons.
Mother Mincey accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age and was a member of Mt. High Holiness Church in Folkston where she served as church mother. She was loving and kind to everyone she met, her congeniall character won a place in the hearts of those privileged to have known her.
God called her from her earthy home to her heavenly home of Tuesday July 21, 2020 after an illness. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by eight brother and two sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory include four daughters, Velma Mincey (Willie), Shirley Tyson (Edmond), Juanita Martin (Dominick) all of Folkston, Ga. and Valentine Edmonds (Michael) of Homerville, Ga.; three sons, Edward Mincey Jr. (Elizabeth) of Folkston, Ga., Henry Mincey (Lisa) of Brunswick, Ga. and Willie Mincey of Jacksonville, Fl.: four sisters, Vilee Giggs, Oppie Gordon, Henritta Mincey (Edward) all of Orlando, Fl. and Willie Mae Jackson of Haines City, Fl.; twenty-three grandchildren; fifty one great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; two God daughters, Kemdra James and Jaletta Roberson both of Folkston, Ga.; a special daughter, Angela Rhymes; a special friend, Sarah Jenkins; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
A graveside service for Mother Mincey will be held Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in The Ridge Cemetery,Arron Way, Patterson, Ga. With Apostle Walden of Jacksonville, Fl. bring words of comfort. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Fluker Funeral Home 985 Ossie Davis Parkway, Waycross, Ga.
