Ms. Annie L. Cooper known as "Dankie" was born June 6,1940 was born to late Johnny Golden an Estelle Cooper. She is last of four children. She is a 1958 graduate of center high school where she served as treasurer for her class reunion for 20 years. She worked at Memorial Satilla Hospital for 24 years where she retired as a dietitian. She was also caregiver for many years.
Dankie was a member of Walter Additional Club for many years. She accepted Jesus at a very early age and joined Friendship Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Dixon. Later in years she fellowshipped with Macedonia Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Ferrel Malone, Sr. Dankie loved God and when she was able, she would visit several programs and churches. She was very kind and friendly to all she came in connect with. She would always have you laughing.
Dankie was proceed in death by her two sisters; Johnnie Mae Cooper and France Jean Cooper-Bellamy and a brother Olden Cooper. After her sister passed, she raised her two sons Danny James and Anthony Cooper.
Dankie leaves to cherish her memory two sons: Danny James of Tampa, FL and Dewayne Cooper of Waycross, GA. Three nieces; Bridget Bellamy of Norcross, GA, Carla Patterson of Decatur, GA and Marsha Bellamy of Waycross, GA. Four nephews; Minister Tony Bellamy, Carl Bellamy, Andrew Bellamy all of Decatur, GA and Joseph Bellamy, Jr of Waycross, GA. Hosts of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, 20 great nieces and nephews, six great great nieces and nephew. Special friend for almost 50 years Earl Strong of Cleveland, OH; two precious God daughters; Dee Stephenson of Waycross, GA and Andrea Harris of Albany GA; two special best friends, Dan and Linda Booker and Louise Perry. A host of cousins and friends.
