Ms. Debra Ann Tyson, the daughter of the late E.J. Tyson and Corine Adams McClendon, was born November 19, 1947 in Ware County, Georgia. She received her formal education from the Waycross Public School System and graduated from Center High School in 1966.
Ms. Tyson accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age and joined Greater St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Waycross. She had a long standing relationship with the late Alphonso Taylor Sr.
During her seventy-four years life span she worked at several jobs which in included the King Edward Cigar Factory, Ware Manor Nursing home, Champion International Inc, and Flash Food Inc. The job she is best known for is being matriarch to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She departed this life on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 after an illness. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Taylor and a step father than raised her, Malachi McClendon.
Those left to cherish her memory include three sons, Alphonso Taylor Jr.(Ronita), Anthony Taylor (Kia), Gerldme Taylor (Tina); two daughters, First sergeant April Morris (Travis) and Christine Taylor; six sisters, Linda McClendon, Susan Oliver (William), Villa McClendon, Debbie McClendon, Lucille Williams and Forestine Perry (Willie); two brothers, Youman McClendon and Thomas McClendon; sixteen grandchildren, Krystal, Eleisha, Eric, Aubrey, Curt’tenses, Ashley, TJ, Shaniah, Darien, Na'Lia, Camren, Titus, Kaaden, Jaaden, Antonio and Alexander; eleven great grandchildren, Londyn, Elan, Axton, Montana, Eiazsun, Kyree, Dash, Kash, Eialand, Avaah and Luna; step mother, Minnie McClendon; two best friends, Sandra Elbert and Shelia Simmons; a God Daughter, Debra Conaway; a honorary son, Bobby Lemon; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A home going service will be held Wednesday April 13, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in Oakland Cemetery. Friends are being received at 1311 Roosevelt Street, Waycross, Georgia. Public visitation for viewing of the body will be held Tuesday from four to seven p.m. at Fluker Funeral Home 985 Ossie Davis Parkway, Waycross, Georgia.
