Sister Elizabeth Louise Hamm was born June 6, 1947 in Waycross, Georgia. Born the second of five children to the late Thomas Hamm Sr. and Lillian Ashley Hamm.
Known to many who loved and knew her as “Louise”, Louie” and “Lou”, she received her formal education from the Waycross Public School System and graduated from Center High School in 1965. After graduating she went into the Jobs Corps and completed the program in Iowa.
In 1970 she moved to New Orleans, La. where she was employed with Charity Hospital of New Orleans for over twenty years. She gave her life to Christ in August 1980 and was a faithful member of Greater Tulane Baptist Church in New Orleans.
In August 2005 after hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans she moved back to Waycross, Ga. where she was reunited with her sister Alwinter and brother Ashley Paul. After moving back to Waycross, she became a faithful member of Community Holiness Church.
Louie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who loved the Lord. She also loved being in her garden tending to her lovely flowers and thoroughly enjoyed her conversations with her sister on the phone.
On Thursday October 29, 2020, the faithful woman of God, Sister Elizabeth Louise Hamm. Was called from her earthly home to her heavenly home after a brief illness. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three sibling, Thomas Hamm Jr., Ruth Mae Hamm and Ashley Paul Hamm.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving children, Daniel Hamm sR. (Chantelle) of New Orleans, La. and Angelina Rachelle Hamm of Waycross, Ga.; her grandchildren, Jevante’ Aaron Hamm of Waycross, Ga., Daniel Hamm Jr. and Cierra Hamm of New Orleans, La.; a loving sister, Alwinter Thompson of Waycross, Ga.; a close friend Hazel Paytee of Waycross, Ga.; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A graveside service for Sister Hamm will be held Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in Gethsemane Cemetery in Patterson, Ga. with her pastor, Elder Bobby Orange, bring words of comfort.
Public visitation will be held Friends from 6 to 7 p.m. at Fluker Funeral Home 985 Ossie Davis Parkway.
