Sis. Elouise Evon Strickland was born July 15, 1948 in Wayne County , Georgia to the late Clearance and Louise Oden Strickland. She was one of twelve children born to this union. She recived her formal education from the Wayne County and Ware County Public School Systems.
Elouise was in a committed relation for over fortytwo years with the late Ivery Tarve Sr. She dedicated her life to the care and well-being of her home and family. She was loving, caring and a giving person, who loved spending time with her family. At the time of demise she was attendi the Nelson Green Senior Citizen center.
She departed this life on Thursday June 2, 2022 at her residence. In addition to her parents and mate she was preceded in death by two sons, Eddie Strickland and Ivery Tarver Jr.; a grandson, Aaiden McClendon, siblings, Dorothy Cobb, Mary Strickland, Ida Mae Rawls, Sarah Weatherspoon, Hebert Smith, Alfonso McKnight. James McKnight and Jessie Strickland.
Those left to cherish her memory include a daughter, Angela McClendon (Stanley) of Waycross; Sons, Clearance Strickland (Retha), Donny Tarver, Bryan Tarver all of Waycross, Ga., and Ryan Tarver Sr. (Tanjula) of MacClenny, Fl.; grandchildren, Stanley McClendon Jr., Tyberious McClendon, Deanna Taylor ,Ryan Tarver Jr. all of Waycross, Ga., Christopher Chancey of Miami, Fl.; Bryan Tarver of Ft. Campbell, Ky., Cameron Tarver of Valdosta, Ga. and Taniyah Garvin of MacClenny, Fl.; a sister, Lois Gordon of Waycross; brothers, Steve McKnight of Homerville, Ga. and Daryl Strickland; sisters-in-law, Joann Strickland, Rosa McKnight both of Waycross and Johnnie Mae Brown of Twin City, Ga.; a step daughter Cassandra Rawls of Waycross; other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday June 11, 2022 at 3: 00 p.m. at Emmanuel’s International Cathedral of the Holy Spril 600 Genoa Street, Waycross, Ga. with the church pastor , Bishop Dr. Michael-Angelo James, bring words of comfort.
Public visitation will be held Friday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Fluker Funeral Home 985 Ossie Davis Parkway. Interment will be in Taylor Chapel Cemetery, Millwood, Georgia
