Ms. Grace Melinda Jones

Grace Melinda Jones, daughter of the late Deacon Fred Jones and Deaconess Grace Bryant Jones, was born November 10, 1943 in Waycross, Georgia.

Linda, as she was affectionately known, received her formal education from the Waycross Public School System and graduated from Center High School in 1962. She further her education by attending Savannah State College and received a BS degree in Business Education from Lincoln Business College.  

On Tuesday September 22, 2020 God called Linda from her earthly home to her heavenly home. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Joceyln Scretcher ; two siblings Laurine Dixon and Henry Jones.

She leaves in God care a loving son, Cary Maurice Jones of Waycross: granddaughter, Cary Jones of Waycross, Ga.: Two great grandchildren, Kayden and Laylah; two sisters, Jimmie Mallory of Sacramento, Ca. and Mary Brooks of Jacksonville, Fl.: two brothers Charles Jones (Willie Mae)of Lancaster, Ca. and Deacon Fred D. Jones Jr. (Mary) of Waycross, Ga.; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, September 27, 2020 in Hazzard Hill Cemetery with Rev. Fer-Rell M. Malone Sr., pastor Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, bring words of comfort.
