Mrs. Scottie Louise Gatson was born to the late Otis Moody Jr. and Queen Victoria Moody on July 16, 1940 in Palmetto, Fl. Sh grew up in Folkston, Georgia where she received her formal education from the Charlton County Public School System and graduated from Bethune High and Elementary School in 1960..
She was joined in holy matrimony to Johnny (Bubba) Gaston.No children was born to this union, but she was instrumental in helping to raise her niece and nephew as well as her great nice and great nephew. She ejoyed spening time reading and doing search word puzzles, sing and most of all with and talking to her best friend Margaret Pollock.
She joined Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in Folkston,Ga. at an early age, under the leadership of Rev. David Singletary. She later became a member of Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Jacksonville, Fl.
She was a formerly employee of the Charlton County Board of Education and the City of Folkston.
She departed this life on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at her residence after an illness. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Wallace Moody and best friend, Margaret Pollock.
Those left to cherish her memory include a sister, Mary Ann Moody of Folkston, Ga.; nephews, Antonio Moody Sr. (Wanda), Fredick Taylor (Nicole) both of Folkston, Ga.: nice, Tanya Moody of Roslindate, Ma.; special great nephew, Antonio Moody Jr.; uncle, Sammy Kelly (Delois) of Kingsland, Ga.; aunts, Susie Kelly of Kingsland, Ga., Eleanor Jones (Curtis) of Kingsland, Aggie President (Nathaniel) of Folkston, Ga. and Johnnie Myers (Carl) of Saint Mary’s, Ga.; grat and great great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friend.
A graveside service will be held Sunday February 28, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in Mt. Carmel Memorial Cemtery, Folkston, Georgia with dr. Bobby Roberson bring words of comforts.
