Ms. Valencia Byrd

Miss. Valencia Nichola Byrd was born March 15, 1996 in Waycross, Georgia to Wesley Riley and Corline Byrd. She grew up in Argyle (Clinch County, Georgia) where she received her formal education and graduated from Clinch County High School in 2015. She continued her education at South Georgia State College in Douglas, Georgia.

Valencia accepted Christ as her personal savior and joined Hayes Chapel Baptist Church in Barney, Georgia. She was a very outgoing person and was loved by many. She was employed at Carter Fried Chicken Restaurant as a cashier/cook.

She departed this life on Sunday morning January 3, 2021 in an automobile accident. She was preceded in death by a great grandmother, a grandfather, an aunt, two uncles and a brother.

Those left to cherish her memory include an uncle and aunt who rised her, Rev. Joseph and Shirley Mobley; sisters, Shiley Byrd, Treashey Mobley, Odicie Butley, Raily Byrd, Olivia Butler; brothers, Jerry Hodges, Williams Butler Jr., Anthony Butler, Octavis Butler and Byron Butler;stept sisters, Shadaja Gamble, Sonoma Jones, Kidijah Grady and ameigha Riley; step brothers, Demara Dorsey, Chauncey Riley and Melchizeder Riley; grandmother, Virgina B.  Williams; granddfather, Clinton Evans; God daughter, Ma’Liyah Eriyanna Phillips; aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at St. Paul Baptist Church, 600 Reddick St, Homerville, GA.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday January 16, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul Baptist Church in Homerville, Georgia where Rev. Jaylen Thomas is pastor and Rev. Joseph Mobley will bring words of comfort. Interment will be in Pine Forest Cemetery. 

Final and most sacred arrangements are entrusted to the professional care of Fluker Funeral Home, 15 Robinson, St. Homerville, Georgia.
