Phyllis Renay (Barnar) King

Mrs. Phyllis Renay Barner King was born September 11, 1959, in Ware County, Georgia to Annie Maude McGauley and the late Lucious Patrick Barner. She received her formal education in the Waycross School System and graduated from Waycross High School with the Class of 1978. She was employed in the retail industry for years. However, her love for children, lead her to become a teacher’s aide with the former Reidsville Headstart in Waycross, GA.

Phyllis dated and later married Mr. Jack King, Sr. This union was blessed with two sons, Jack King, Jr. and Jawara King.  She was a very dedicated mother, step mother, daughter, sister and friend always encouraging her loved ones.

On Sunday October 2, 20201 while receiving care at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross, GA. Phyllis transitioned from her earthly body to her heavenly home.

Those left to cherish her memory include her two sons, Jack King, Jr., Washington, DC and Jawara King, Waycross, GA.; step daughter Kutrina Hunt, Jesup, GA; mother Annie Maude McGauley, Blackshear, GA; six sisters, Stephanie McGauley, Waycross. GA, Cleo Hamilton, Waycross, GA, Jennifer Barner, Miami, FL, Marissa Barner, Miami, FL, Terry Barner, Miami, FL and Annette (Otis) Riggs, Waycross, GA; six brothers, Marion McGauley, Atlanta, GA, Leon Shaw, Waycross, GA, Michael Barner, Miami, FL, Matthew Barner, Miami, FL, Ricky Tucker, Savannah, GA and Anthony Barner, Waycross, GA; best friend Sylvia James, Waycross, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Final and most sacred arrangements are entrusted to the professional care of Fluker Funeral Home, 985 Ossie Davis Parkway, Waycross, GA.
